Mother's Day 2009

I realize that we are well past Mother's Day, but I wanted to share this post.
One of my favorite things on Mother's Day is to receive photos of my daughters and grandsons.
The first photo is Michelle with her boys, Daevian (3) and Darion (2). I love the playfulness of this picture!

The next photo includes my daughter, Amanda along with Michelle and the boys. They all have such wonderful smiles - and those boys are such hams! They are all my pride and joy!

Have a wonderful day! Be back soon!

IT IS ALIVE!!! Yes - I am...

I am so sorry for neglecting my blogger duties! I have not been able to keep up with everything as I should. I just finally updated my Stampin' Up! DBWS last week. Hopefully I can get back in the swing of things.

I would like to start posting my projects again... I feel like I've become better at creating projects. You know - the more you do, the better you get - kinda thing. I am in no way as talented and creative as some of the stampers out there, but I enjoy creating projects that someday hope to become as creative as others, whose work I admire.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I promise to post atleast once weekly and more when able.

Happy Stampin'!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Here we are at the beginning of another new year.... life is good.

I've been doing alot of reflecting over the past several weeks. Mostly because of the loss of my friend, Jeff... losing someone so close really makes you sit back and think about your own life and what you can do to make the most of it.

I feel that I have been a good person throughout my life, but I want to be a better person. I want to start volunteering & contributing more to help others. I want to be a better friend, a better daughter and a better mother/grandmother. I want to lose weight, to be healthier, so that I can live longer and be all of these things. I want to be more thrifty and cautious with my finances, so that I can be prepared for the future.

I once read that if you work hard you will be rewarded for your efforts... whether emotionally, spiritually or monitarily. And I'm not saying that I want to be literally rewarded for doing these things, I just want to feel more satisfied with the person I am.

So here I go, resolving to make these changes in my life... the little engine that could.

Thank you all...

I have received so many notes about the loss of my dear friend.... I couldn't possibly reply to everyone individually. Thank you so very much for your caring thoughts and prayers. It means so much to receive such comforting words. Thank you all...

I'll miss you, Jeff.

Jeffrey L. Henson 1958-2008
Today was a very sad day in my life. A dear friend was laid to rest.

Jeff and I had been dating on and off for about 3 years. While we were no longer a "couple", we were still very good friends. We would go out to dinner from time to time and always kept in touch. I had just talked to Jeff on Friday evening - he was feeling good and looked good. Several people told me that they had talked to him over the weekend, mentioning that Jeff had been having a good time at a banquet he had attended on Sunday. On Monday morning his father called to Jeff to come to breakfast; Jeff didn't reply... Reluctantly his father went into Jeff's bedroom and found him "sleeping peacefully"... sometime during the night Jeff had passed on.

Jeff was just 50 years old. He was liked by all and loved by many.

He will be missed, terribly.
